The Corazones project is over. Whatever has been left standing will come down today. I don't know for sure the numbers, but we approximately lost a 1/4 of the hearts.
We'll store the hearts and make more for February 2012. Every person, artist or not, is welcome to join us next year for our CELEBRATION of LOVE for the SOUTH COAST!
Thank you all for making and/or enjoying the hearts!

Another Heart Appearance by Doug DeCarlo

Doug DeCarlo is the most recent artist who has moved part-time to the South Coast. Doug has been inspired by the proliferation of artsy hearts around the area, and he decided to make his own heart for the Corazones project: a red heart, on fire, crossed by pencil and paintbrush, expressing love for the art and for the South Coast. The heart is visible along Canyon Road, Pescadero.
Thank you, Doug, for your generous and beautiful contribution!

Corazones in the news!
February 16, 2011. An article about the Corazones project is published in the Half Moon Bay Review by Stacy Trevenon
[errata: hearts will come down at end of February, although some hearts might stay up in private properties if owners ask so and artists are OK with it]
In the mean while we are trying to figure out how to keep the hearts up until the end of the month. Many hearts have been taken down by the San Mateo County Public Works... Will we be able to recover them and make a deal until the end of the month? Let's hope.

About 70 "Corazones" hang around the South Coast
There are about 70 hearts posted around the roads of the South Coast. Some of them are more visible than others as they hang along Hwy 1, the most travelled route by residents and visitors. But others are in secondary locations that you will have to purposefully reach, like along hwy 84, Swanton Rd, Bean Hollow Rd, Pescadero Ck Road, Cloverdale Rd, Stage Rd, or Wurr Rd.
To see some pictures of the Corazones go to the dedicated page in this blog, or to the Corazones Event in the Arte Motu facebook page, where you will be able to post your pictures with the hearts. To know the exact locations of the hearts, their titles, their materials, their authors, visit this map:
