Today is the Last Day of Capradero 2011

If you haven't yet had the chance to stroll among the fish-goats, this is your last opportunity.

If the weather allows us--it seems it might be excellent from where I am--we'll have two different music groups you don't want to miss: Abalone Dreams with Suzana Gulmert (1-3pm), and Mass Transient with Julie Schreiber (3:30-4:30pm).

When you will be in the middle of the Fish-Goat Vortex™, take a penny or a pebble and vote Goat or Fish. Stop by the Goat-Mask Making Station and  enjoy some craft. On the way out, make a donation: 25% of the profits will go to funds the arts in the local schools.

Thanks for visiting Capradero!

Pescadero Elementary School visits Capradero!

Shannon Webb chaperons the spiraling goat tour in both English and Spanish. Capradero, May 13th, 2011.

Can a goat be edible for a vegetarian? This is the case of Verrry Berry the Pirate Goat by Suzana Gulmert, with lots of nice berries growing on top. :)

The Big Kahuna by Shannon Webb is a winner. Kids marvel and start to think how to make one, so simple and so effective.

Preschool children at Capradero, May 13th 2011.

Wow! A goat with a fish as head? This is Sargus Amantis by Delma Soult, a goat that fertilize the ground with lovely poop that make grow horny goat weed, a popular remedy to turn on the libido of men and women.

Gappers love the goats, and when they are on top of them they shriek of joy. But so doing, the goats can't sleep, and if they don't sleep they don't produce any milk. Poor goats!

As soon as you tell the kids that they can touch... oh boy!... they are not going to miss the opportunity to touch every single part of that object! :)

Kids got to touch a wooden goat and listen to the story of Sarah Saw Goat and the marine creatures called Gappers who crawl out of the ocean and infest the town of Capradero every night. How would you like to brush gappers off the goat every night?

Is it possible that a goat nurse two adopted twin fish? Yes, that is the case of Capratoline!
Everything is possible at Capradero!

Norka Bailey and pre-K children get a glimpse about evolution from "Darwin",
the marine mammal creature precursor of terrestrial goats, made by Shannon Webb.

Norka Bailey, with her Pre-K class take a closer look at
"Capratoline" by Beth Ross at Capradero, May 13th, 2011.

Beautiful article on Capradero: a Lot of Fish Goats in the HMB Patch

Would you like to have a little preview of what are you going to see tomorrow, and for the next two weekends, at "Capradero: a Lot of Fish Goats"? Here is a nice article by Kristine Wong published in the Half Moon Bay Patch, titled "Populist Art in Pescadero Rises Again". And a lot of colorful photos are included! It is true, Kristine: populist art is on the rise, as it should be during hard times.

This afternoon, while we were installing Capradero, Kristine Wong, editor of the HMB Patch, came to visit us, took some photos, and talked to me and others (Glenn, Dave, and Dennis). She is going to post an article in the HMB Patch, an emerging online newspaper based in Half Moon Bay.
